Festa Italiana inc. (501-c3) non for profit

Corporation's primary goal of building an Italian American community center in central New York to Bring together the Italian community in enjoying their heritage

Inception of the organization 1996

Fundraising events:

  1. Festa Italiana- three day event in downtown Syracuse
  2. a taste of Italy- evening event in march
  3. Festa golf- tournament in may

Festa Italiana remains the hub of the organization

Beginning with 240,000 sq feet of space, the festival Has grown to some 850,000 sq. feet

The event brings together families from one year olds to 90 year olds

Enjoy all of the following events during the three days:

Bocce- teams travel in from all over New York State In competition during the festival.

Pastry bake off- entries are judged to determine the Best pastry chef

Pasta sauce cook off- a panel of judges vote on the Best homemade sauce

Cucina tent- on-going chef demonstrations scheduled throughout the three days

Children’s tent- children’s music, art, crafts and Contests

Main stage- on-going line up of entertainment for all ages, from local music and dance groups to feature Acts.

Food vendors- perhaps the largest draw to the Festival, over 25 local restaurants and caterers Selling pre-approved specialties. Our board of directors try to insure diversity in the offerings

Honorary chair person, each year Festa honors an Italian-American that has truly donated their life in Supporting our heritage

Heritage display- Italian artists displaying their works for all to see

Attendance year 2000, 65,000

Programs distributed 65,000

Brochures distributed 100,000

Media sponsors- Syracuse New Times WIXT channel 9,

Clear channel communications 6 radio Stations

Example: Y94FM, combined over 210 spots

Annual poster, placement in over 5000 locations

Volunteer staff in excess of 300 people
